Star Trek launched onto our television sets several decades ago, and began a franchise that seems to have wide appeal to many from all walks of life. The Perth Mints Star Trek Series of coins features some of the most enduring characters from the various Star Trek shows that the original has paved the way for. The 2015 Tuvalu Star Trek Silver Two-Coin Proof Set pays homage to Star Trek: Enterprise, which graced our television sets in 2001. With just four full seasons, the show was relatively short, but remains a part of Star Trek history nonetheless. These coins contain 1 oz of .999 pure silver.

Star Trek: Enterprise was the fifth series in the Star Trek franchise. Based on the world created by Gene Roddenberry, Enterprise followed the adventures of Captain Archer and his USS Enterprise crew. This show was set as a prequel before the original Star Trek series. The enduring popularity of Star Trek ensures that this show will live on with new series released every few years.
Obverse
The obverse design of each of the coins features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The fourth-generation portrait of Her Majesty was completed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. Her Majesty is surrounded by engraved text that includes that include her name, the nation of issue, year of issue, and the face value of the coin.
Reverse
The reverse design of the Captain Archer coin features a colorized image of Scott Bakula, who played the role of Captain Jonathan Archer. The reverse of the USS Enterprise coin features the image of the Enterprise, against a colorized backdrop of a mountainous planet.
The Series:
Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek debuted in 1966, and ran for three seasons until 1969. Set in the future, the science fiction series followed the 23rd century adventures of Captain James T. Kirk and the Constitution-class starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, a powerful interstellar spacecraft dispatched by the Earth-based Starfleet Command to explore the galaxy.
Since its debut, Star Trek has developed into a cult phenomenon with a range of spinoff television series and a number of feature films being released over the past five decades.
