Soviet WW2 Military Field Binoculars, 6x30 magnification, dated 1940, with original leather neck strap and a matching post-war case.
The binoculars show a 1940 date of manufacture as well as manufacturer’s logo and the serial number. The binoculars are in VERY GOOD condition. The optics is clear; the grid lines are present. All the original screws are present. The brass fittings show wear to the black paint but are generally intact. Both barrels are in great shape, with all of the original finish is still intact. The eyepieces still have their original Bakelite eye-guards that are often missing on Soviet WW2 era binoculars.
The binoculars come with original WW2 period neck strap in brown leather that shows a lot of wear but is still sound. Also included is a post-war Soviet-made carrying case that fits the binoculars perfectly. The case is complete with canvas shoulder strap and even has light filters still wrapped in oilpaper and tucked in special compartment inside the case (the light filters are mismatched and will only loosely fit the eyepiece covers, but there may be a way to make them work). Overall, a great set that would be great to add to any WW2 collection or to use for WW2 Red Army reenactment.
